Hobbits, Georges, and Habitats

For The Love ended 2021 with so many projects and things to learn that we got way behind in sharing with you. Here's a quick re-cap of some of our favorites. We did a unit on The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien and decided to share the "Hero's Journey" and the plot of the book by creating a board game. In the game, the players embark on a journey of their own and draw cards which depict different elements from the book which give them instructions on how to move forward in the game.

We also concluded our unit on the American Revolution by comparing the two Georges (Washington and The King of England), as well as reading about the conspiracy against Washington which could have changed history had it been successful.

In science we were leaning about bio-diversity and why it matters. Here are some of Luna's notes on the subject.

We went to a science museum to learn more, and here are a few photos of what we learned

Coming up we will be posting about The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, Atoms and Elements, as well as some Geography learned by making our own globe... stay tuned, and thanks for sharing our learning adventure with us!
